Steady Now
"When
I heard of Toby's death, I immediately took a postcard I have of his Geiger-inspired
painting from my wall and wrote a poem in response to it, and in response
to him. When I first saw the painting, and on the back of the postcard,
it was entitled 'Steady Now', hence the title of the poem. The painting
had made quite an impact on me when I saw it at the Childwickbury exhibition."
